So after we went to Brussels we took the 5 and 1/2 hour journey to Caen. When we arrived the hotel wasnt particularly great, kinda reminded me of Alan Partridge (was waiting for someone to shout Dan across the car park) and it had a odd smell with a plastic bathroom from the 70′s. Thankfully we were just using it as a base and it meant we were going to be getting up and going out. We started out being “poncy” and drinking wine in random French bars before grabbing some food. We got up early next morning and headed off to Omaha and then Bayeux to see the tapestry (no photos allowed there). Finally we ended up in the Caen Memorial which honestly we could have spent most of the day there..
Well after my trip with George to Brussels, Caen and Paris I have about 1000 pictures to review. From there I’ll put the best ones online and will give the others to the people who were there. Had a great time, Brussels was really wet but managed to get a cracking night out with Clemintine, Mathiu and George and then quite a somber Sunday without George (24 hours in bed, one hell of a hangover).. From there we had a 5 hr drive to Caen, where we arrived to a hotel that would have been best placed in the twilight zone, but in spite of this or because of it We spent most of those 2 days out of the hotel.
Finally Paris! for a big city it actually feels rather small, which is a credit to the Metro and our gracious guide clemie.. We look in the regular sights like the Lourve (Shit) and Eiffel Tower which was manic, also saw the Notre Dame and was then shown the sacre coeur which was a marvelous place, well worth the little climb. I believe I’ve got some fantastic pictures of the Church, the Parisian views and the fine people I was with.
I’ll probably get reviewing these on the weekend and start uploading them this week.

Well I’m off to Brussels around 8.30 tonight, but I remembered I had developed these photos from our work’s conference at Haydock races. Damn good day
So, I’ve got a new camera… I sold my d60 a few weeks ago with 2 of my lens and finally got around to getting a new one. I’ve gone for a D300 and a Nikon 18-200 lens. I am off to Europe next week so will be updating soon 
Fridays adventure to Chester zoo, was surprisingly dryer than expected and was the start of quite a long weekend
Well this weekend has been a right busy one. I’ve got photos of the zoo to come up (once they are all cleaned up). Also I’ve been working on the front room and with the help of the other Phil, I now have a ship shape front room (which I’ll also put some photos up of)..
Sadly my macro zoom len’s doesn’t work in such low light but my 50mm does. So here’s some photos..
A quick trip to London where I caught up with Carro and Andreas. Was nice sunny day to start but became very wet and we had a slightly grumpy Carro
